NEW LABORATORIES, OFFICES AND SUPPORT FACILITIES
This project involved the development of an existing site together with the acquisition & development of additional laboratory & office space.
The overall layout & positioning of the laboratories was carefully considered to ensure that the dynamic relationship between the different users and the specialist needs of each laboratory work together.
The aim of the office upgrade was to create a fresh, contemporary and pleasant working environment by careful use of restrained neutral tones as background, with carefully chosen strong accent colours to add interest and an element of sophistication. Furniture & storage was chosen to compliment and strengthen the overall styling.
MIDLAND DIALYSIS CENTRE
This project involved the part demolition of an 890m2 WA Produce Building to enable the relocation of the operational Midland Dialysis Centre. The project included the construction of 2 Haemodialysis wards with a total of 24 patient bays.
The new facility incorporates Training, Seminar and Staff Rooms together with a Technical Services Room and an RO water plant area.
The works also involved the installation and commissioning of four new climate controlled HVAC systems. The finishes included coved floor vinyl with selected paint feature walls.
NEW API FACILITY
Monaco Hickey Group were engaged to fulfill the role of construction manager on behalf of PharmLab in the construction of their new API Facility. The major challenge facing the team in the design and construction of this facility was that only 48sqm of space was available. This made both the design and construction very complex with an overall cost of $12,500/sqm.
This facility becomes the first of its' kind in Australia which enables the production of fluorescene to be made locally.
BIOCHEMISTRY LABORATORY
The project involved the construction of a new 900m2 biochemistry laboratory on Level 3 of Latrobe University's Physical Sciences Facility. The building remained operational during the course of the construction works and required continuous planning and interface with the university to ensure operations continued without disruption.
The construction works included major demolition including asbestos removal and decontamination of existing equipment. The new facility consisted of 4 standalone laboratories complemented with supervisory offices, write up areas and lecture rooms.
