MONACO HICKEY GROUP COMMITMENT TO OH&S
The directors of Monaco Hickey Group each equally share the overall responsibility of Occupational Health and Safety for the Companies operations.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Providing skilled personnel and appropriate management systems to ensure the health and safety of project personnel and the general public consistent with the Company's Health, Safety and Environment Policy and that health and safety is not compromised or influenced by the commercial interests represented within the Project.
- Providing sufficient resources to support and promote health and safety initiatives.
- Preparation of an Occupational Health and Safety Management Plan complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Project requirements for submission to and approval by the Client prior to commencing any work on site.
- Implementing the approved Occupational Health and Safety Management Plan and establishing processes for monitoring, inspection and auditing to ensure full compliance with the Plan.
- Ensuring that, before commencing any work on site, Sub-Contractors provide an Occupational Health and Safety Management Plan or Work Plan for their components of the Project which is consistent with the overall Project Occupational Health and Safety Management Plan.
- Appointment of a senior staff member to coordinate the Sub-Contractors' Occupational Health and Safety Management Plans and liaise with the Project Manager on health and safety matters.
- Appointment of an appropriately qualified Workplace Health and Safety Officer whose responsibilities will include conducting site induction, coordination of tool box meetings, coordination of the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) system, provision of occupational health and safety information and advice.
- Ensuring that a copy of all Occupational Health and Safety Management Plans, Work Plans and relevant supporting documentation, including Acts, Regulations, Codes and Standards, are available on site.
- Ensuring that Monaco Hickeys' Groups' own personnel are competent to perform their work safely and that processes are in place to ensure the competency of Sub-Contractors' personnel.
- Ensuring the active involvement of all personnel in managing health and safety through the establishment of consultative processes.
- Establishment of a Project Workplace Health and Safety Committee and ensuring that all sections of the Project workforce are represented on this Committee by Workplace Health and Safety Representatives.
- Providing procedures, equipment and trained personnel for first aid and other medical assistance as necessary.
